About the academy

A flying academy designed around how often you actually fly

Ask anyone in Indian flying training what delays a cadet and you get the same three answers. The aircraft was not available. The airspace was busy. The weather did not cooperate. Only the last of those is genuinely outside anyone’s control, and we have built Melstarr around the other two.

Everything happens on one site at Kurnool: ground school, flying, operations and maintenance. You are not doing theory in one city and flying in another state.

Finish in seven to eight months

Two hundred hours across seven months is about twenty-eight hours a month, which is six or seven sorties a week for a cadet who is available. That is an ordinary rate. What is unusual in India is being able to sustain it.

Glass cockpit from lesson one

Integrated digital displays, autopilot with automated straight-and-level recovery, and whole-airframe parachute recovery. You train on the flight deck you will be hired into.

Multi-engine and night flying included

Multi-engine training, night flying and landing charges at other bases are covered in the programme fee, not invoiced separately at hour 150.

Assessed on competency

You are measured on what you can demonstrate, not only on what you have logged. It is the same language airline selection uses.
