Private Pilot License (PPL)

The PPL allows you to act as pilot in command of an aircraft on a strictly non-commercial basis. You can fly for yourself and carry passengers without remuneration. It is the licence everything else is built on. It is also the honest way to find out whether flying is a career or a passion, because some people discover in their first twenty hours that they love aeroplanes and do not want the job. That is a much better thing to learn early than late.

Age

Minimum 17 years at the time of licence issue.

Education Level

Class 10th (or equivalent) with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.

Medical Fitness

A valid DGCA Class 2 medical certificate.

English Proficiency

ICAO Level 4 English or above.

Private Pilot License (PPL)

Overview

  • Flight Training : You must complete a minimum of 40 hours of flight training, including a specified number of hours in different categories, such as dual instruction (instruction received from a flight instructor) and solo flight (flying alone).
  • Theory Examinations : You are required to pass theoretical examinations that cover subjects such as air regulations, aviation meteorology, navigation, aircraft systems, and flight planning.
  • Cross-Country Flying : You must complete a specified number of cross-country flight hours. This involves planning and executing flights to destinations beyond a certain distance.
  • Radio Telephony Communication : You need to complete training in radio telephony communication and obtain a Restricted Radiotelephony Operator’s License (RTR).
  • ICAO Language Proficiency : You must demonstrate ICAO language proficiency at a minimum operational level.
Once you obtain a Private Pilot training, you can fly single-engine aircraft as the pilot-in-command (PIC) and carry passengers. However, it is important to note that PPL certification holders are not permitted to fly for compensation or hire.

Selection Process

How to apply

  1. Enquire. Send us the form or call. We will send the full programme document and the fee structure. No pressure, and no campaign of messages you did not ask for.
  2. Counselling. A conversation with our team, in person at Kurnool or online. Bring your parents and bring the difficult questions. This is the point at which to be sceptical, not after you have paid.
  3. Medical. Obtain your DGCA Class 2 medical. Do this before committing substantial money to anyone.
  4. Assessment. We look for aptitude, English proficiency and a realistic understanding of the career.
  5. Registration. Confirm your seat. Seats are limited by fleet and instructor capacity.
  6. Documentation. Computer number application, verification and DGCA formalities, which we work through with you rather than handing you a checklist.
  7. Induction. Ground school begins.
