The Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) program at Dunes Aviation Academy is built for aspirants who aim to become professional pilots, not just licence holders. The course integrates DGCA-compliant ground training, structured flying hours, and simulator exposure to prepare cadets for real commercial aviation operations. Our 2026 training approach emphasizes competency, safety, and career readiness, ensuring graduates meet airline and regulatory expectations. CPL training at Dunes Aviation is managed as a structured journey, aligning academics, flight training, and licensing to support steady, efficient progress under DGCA standards.

Age

Applicants must be at least 16 years old at the time of joining. This is the minimum age required to begin Commercial Pilot License (CPL) training.

Education Level

You must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent exam with Physics and Math as compulsory subjects to be eligible for the CPL program.

Medical Fitness

A valid Class II Medical Certificate issued by a DGCA-approved doctor is mandatory. This ensures you are medically fit to undergo pilot training.

English Proficiency

You must demonstrate ICAO Level 4 English or higher, ensuring you can effectively understand and communicate in aviation English.

Commercial Pilot License (CPL)

Overview

  • Ground School : Theoretical classroom instruction of 500 hours.
  • Flight Training : Practical flight training of more than 200 hours.
  • Instrument Rating (IR) : Includes simulator training and flight hours under simulated or actual instrument meteorological conditions (IMC).
  • Cross-Country Navigation : Includes route selection, navigation techniques, flight plan filing, and practical experience navigating between different airports and destinations.
  • Flight Operations : Instruction on flight operations, flight management, and crew resource management (CRM) techniques.
  • Aviation Regulations and Safety : In-depth study of aviation regulations, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure compliance with national and international aviation standards.
  • Multi-Engine Training : 15 hours of flight training on multi-engine aircraft systems, operations, and multi-engine flight maneuvers.

Selection Process

Selection Process

We review all online applications and subject to you meeting our entry criteria, you will be invited to complete our initial web-based selection process. This is a series of online psychometric, numeracy and aptitude assessments.

We use the AON assessment tool to help determine whether or not you have the core competencies needed to successfully commence the course.

The next stage of the selection process will be to attend an interview with Skyborne.

SPECIAL OFFER: The first 50 applicants will receive a FREE assessment worth $150 USD.

Following the first 50 applications, there will be a non-refundable one-time assessment fee of USD $150. The selection process will start as soon as the assessment fee has been paid.
